TRACK:  Track practice after school until 5:30 pm.   

High School Girls’ Basketball:  There will be a high school girls’ basketball information meeting today at 3:00 in the multi-purpose room.  Any 8th grade lady interested in playing in high school next year needs to attend the meet with Coach Campbell.  

Scholastic Bowl:  Scholastic Bowl will compete in the County Tournament tomorrow evening.  Bring your $5 if you ordered a pizza meal for the tournament on Thursday.  Bus will be at 3:15 Thursday.  Please dismiss the students participating at 3:05.  

Art Club : 6th grade art club will meet TODAY until 4:30pm.

Team Corn Detasseling:   Team Corn Detasseling is hiring students for the summer.  Work with your friends this summer. There are local pick up sites and local fields.  Earn from $7.75 to $10.00 per hour depending on your ability. The season starts around July 10th and runs for 10 to 15 days.  Pick up a form in the information center, TODAY!!!

Spring Monster Contest: The library is hosting a Spring Monster Contest to scare away winter!  This contest started April 2nd and ends April 20th. The monster design can be no bigger than 12” by 12”.  The monster must be school appropriate, hand-drawn, an original design, must have color, partners are optional (no more than two).  Please turn entries into Mrs. Dieken in the library. The prize for the winner will be either a McDonald’s or Burger King meal served the week of April 23rd.   

6th Grade Spelling Bee results – Mr. Lustfeldt wants to congratulate all the students who gave their best effort! Many students did well, spelling 40 or more of the 50 words correctly. There will be a future written or verbal Spelling Bee for some of our finalist because there were some ties in the scoring. The following students achieved the highest scores on the written spelling test.

Dean Clendenen, Alyssa Cnudde, Reka Ritzma, Cali Statler, Noah Gomez, Ella Thompson, Isabel Heisner, Madison McTaggart, CJ Perzee, Angel Andrade

The highest score on the written spelling test was Dean Clendenen who spelled 49 out of 50 words correctly.   

Don’t Punt; Go For It:  For today, a couple short facts:  Elephants do not like peanuts, McDonald’s used to sell pizza in the 1970’s, and rabbits often sleep with their eyes open.  I wonder if the McPizza was deep fat fried?
