BOYS BASKETBALL:  Congratulations to the Raiders who defeated Lansing Heritage on Wednesday at Gibson City.  The 8th grade Raiders advance to the State Playoff series in Tolono tomorrow at 1PM.  If they win, they will advance to the State 8-3A state semi-finals at 6:30pm.  Since this is a Saturday game, we will not host a Fan Bus but we want to urge you to get out there and find a way to Tolono to support our Raiders!!!  Great job guys and best of luck on Saturday!!!  Practice tonight from 5:30-7pm. Boys come to school at 5:10pm tonight two guest speakers will be here to talk to you.

WRESTLING:  3:30-6:00pm at Central.

VOLLEYBALL:  Both teams will practice from after school until 5:30pm in Onarga.

TRACK:  The next Open Gym will be today after school till – 5pm.  You will be in the hallways so please meet Coach Buck in the cafeteria.

Scholastic Bowl:   Next practice will be Tuesday.  Please check your email from Coach Fink.

Pep-Rally:  We will host a pep rally today for the 8th grade boys’ basketball team today at 3:05.  Please dismiss all students to gym at 3:00pm.  Students, you may bring down your bookbags / coats to the gym.  GO RAIDERS!!!

Family Fun-a-thon will take place on Sunday, February 11 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. @ Olivet Nazarene University.

Campus Life:  There will be an All-Area Campus Life event at Adventure Commons on Saturday, February 10th.  There will be basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and music.  If you are interested in going, meet at the Garage in Gilman at 6pm and bring $15 for admission.  Permission slips are located at the Garage.  

The IWHS Mentors are, again, hosting “Feel the Love” Night on Friday, February 16 at the IWHS Boys’ Basketball Game. There will be face painting and prize give-aways! Come dressed in your best Raider Gear for a chance to win!  Also, you can purchase Feel the Love T-shirts.   We will put order forms in the office.  

PE- Fri.- All in gym for PE

Art Club: 7th grade art club will not meet until Feb. 28.

Community Soccer:  If you are interested in signing up for Spring community soccer, please grab a form in the Information Center today!!!

Don’t Punt; Go For It: The British coined the term “soccer” in the late 1800’s.  The term did not take off well in Great Britain and was brought over to America by immigrants.  Since the gridiron was called football the term soccer took off in the United States.
