7th boys basketball players – Mr. Lustfeldt has posted an announcement on the google classroom page about an opportunity to earn money for the basketball program and help us to attend  summer basketball tournaments. He needs volunteers for a fundraiser on Monday April 24th, between the times of 3:30p-8pm. You do not have to help the whole time. 6th grade boys who want to play basketball next year may also help. 6th boys talk to Mr. Lustfeldt.

Health- Meet in the gym today for Health Class.

Track:  Yesterday we forgot to announce a new school record!  Clayton Leonard shattered the 23 year old discus record with a throw of 127 ft at PBL on Tuesday.  Congrats Clayton! Home meet vs. Tri-Point, St. John’s and Cornerstone at 4:00.  Remember to head down to the gym immediately after school and get ready to walk to the track.  Make sure to thoroughly check the Google Classroom page for events!  Because this is a home meet and there are no limits, athletes may be competing in additional events. Scholastic Bowl:  Our Scholastic Bowl team took home the third place trophy last night in the Twin County Tournament.  Great job, Raiders!!!

8th Girls Interested in playing basketball next year in high school need to come to an informational meeting on Thursday at 2:55pm in the cafeteria (multi-purpose room).

The following 8th Graders will be competing in the Iroquois County Math contest on Fri. April 21. Adrianna Schroder, Max McTaggart, Kaleb Pheifer, Roberto Carmona, Jack Pree, Ryan Tilstra, Shelby Johnson, Adrianna Zavala. (alternate: Estefany Andrade)  Good Luck, Mathletes!!!

Wrestling:  If you plan to wrestle at Central next year either as a high schooler or as middle schooler, there are off-season summer schedules and wrestling camp information sheets available at lunch time.  See Mrs. Maisonneuve and pick one up when you go through the lunch line this week.

Art Club:  There will be 8th grade art club TODAY after school until 4:30pm.

8th Grade DC Students: The following students need to get their DC Medical Release, Behavior Contract, and Rooming Forms to Ms. Fink no later than Thursday! Reece Baker

Fact of the Day:  At Chichen Itza, Mexico, the Mayan celebrated the first day of spring with “The Return of the Sun Serpent.” On the evening of the spring equinox, the setting sun creates a triangular shadow on the El Castillo pyramid that looks like a descending snake, or the feather serpent god Ku-kul-kan.
