On this day in history, the Charlie Brown Christmas premiered.  It was 1965 and the world was embroiled in the Cold War, the Vietnam Conflict, and rising concerns around the globe.  The Charles Shultz special helped the world to remember the true meaning of Christmas.  The special is most remembered for the Christmas tree that Charlie Brown picked out.  At first, the tree is scoffed at by Charlie’s friends but Linus sees the beauty in the tree and eventually, all of Charlie’s friends see the uniqueness and recognize the tree for being a perfect symbol of Christmas.

Sitting next to Poise on the Pyramid of Success is Confidence.  Don’t get confidence confused with arrogance.  Arrogance means that you feel as if you are perfect, not able to make true mistakes.  Confidence is an assurance that we get through preparation.  Confidence means that you believe in your efforts and that if you make a mistake, that mistake is necessary for finding a different path to success.  Adopt the right kind of confidence today to ensure a brighter tomorrow!!!

Today is Pearl Harbor Day.  75 years ago today, the United States was attacked by the Japanese Empire.  Nearly 2500 people lost their life that day and 1200 were wounded.  This sneak attack, perpetrated by Japan, ushered in US participation in World War II.  The US would join the Allies in a hope to defeat the Axis powers of Germany, Japan, and Italy.  Little did the world know that this sneak attack would help make the United States a Superpower in the world and that it would help to spread democracy and freedom to all parts of the globe.  Pearl Harbor marked a day of misery and disgrace but brought about a legacy of freedom and helped to defeat an utter evil.  Don’t forget Pearl Harbor Day, EVER!!!

Poise means to stay calm under pressure.  Often times, this is the variable to determines if we lose our cool under duress or if we stay collected.  When someone or something is pushing your buttons, seek to show poise and to stay focused and solve the problem.  Poise is a great thing.
